The association hosted the second weekend on July 14, 2018.  137 hooks for the day, this was a good start for a new year.  The association decided to pull on the south end of the wheat field in order to keep the pulling on the west side.  The ground was sandy on the south end and mucky on the north end.  The lower classes sleds were hard pulling all day and higher classes sleds had full pulls all day.  The 10,000 lbs. Class was won by Andy Mastin on 34 – international harvester 706.  Andy was in a pull off with two other pullers.  He won it by six inches at eight feet eight inches.  The 5,500 lbs. Class was won by Tim Moran on 5 – spare parts.  Tim Moran won the class plus second place.  This is the second time he has done this in the past two years. Jonathan Everhart won the 9,500 lbs. Class with the 53 – international harvester 706.  He was the only puller to make a full pull in this class.  The 6,000 lbs. Class was won by Brandon Everhart on 66 – Farmall 560.  All pulls in this class were very close all morning.  Brandon won the class with a distance of eight feet eight inches.  Hip won the 9,000 lbs. Class on the international harvester 766.  He won the class by one foot at eleven feet ten inches.   Jonathan Everhart won the 6,500 lbs. Class with the 66 – Farmall 560.  This was Jonathan’s second class that he won and the ever harts were on fire!  The 8,500 lbs. Class first place winner was Aaron Mastin on the 34 – international harvester 706.  The sled was pulling easy and moisture was coming up.  The class had 5 full pulls, but Aaron’s hard work won it for him by four inches’ making his final pull 10 feet 8 inches.  The 7,000 lbs. Class was won by Garrett McGaha. This was his first placing since the middle of last season. He won the class with thirteen feet two inches.  Looks like everyone had fun and was glad to get the season started.
