2023 Season

The association started the season on the 15th of July. The wheat and straw were not ready to harvest on the 8th. This caused the setup to be on the 13th and was very successful because the association split up into three groups: placing the blocks on the sleds, setting up the scales, and pulling the ropes. The ground started wet this year always wondering if the weekend pull was going to get cancelled. It seemed like it would rain every Thursday. Before the first August pull, the track was moved up on the hill, because it was dryer on the hill. The last weekend a group of the members played a trick on another member with hot dog water and a beer bottle. At the awards meeting, the mastermind of this trick was awarded the Shithead.

Nate and Maria Niehoff hosted the awards meeting. The food at the meeting was pulled pork and a pitch-in by the members. The champions were:

    • 10,000 lbs: Nate Moran – Oliver 1850-23 with 28 points
    • 5,500 lbs: Ray Brewer on Oliver 770-38 with 25 points
    • 9,500 lbs: Nate Moran on Oliver 1850-23 with 22 points
    • 6,000 lbs: Doug Harpring on Farmall 656-45 with 40 points
    • 9,000 lbs: Pat Moran on Oliver 1850-29 with 24 points
    • 6,500 lbs: Nate Moran on Oliver 1600-4 with 25 points
    • 8,500 lbs: Andy Mastin on Farmall 806-35 with 30 points
    • 7,000 lbs: Jack Hubbell on Farmall 400-20 with 32 points

    • 1st: Nate Moran with 127 points
    • 2nd: Tim Moran with 114 points
    • 3rd: Pat Moran with 106 points
    • 3rd: Andy Mastin with 106 points
    • 5th: Doug Harpring with 104 points
    • 6th: Aaron Mastin with 80 points
    • 7th: Jack Hubbell with 68 points
    • 8th: Kevin Byrnes with 63 points
    • 9th: Darren Niehoff with 62 points

The Shithead was awarded to original/first/mastermind Mike Mastin. The Pressure award was given to Dave Angle. 2024 officers are President: Doug Harpring, Vice-President: Nate Niehoff, Secretaries: Natalie Weintraub & Jack Hubbell, Treasurer: Darren Niehoff, and IT Coordinator: Richard Pruitt. Thank you Nate and Maria for hosting the meeting. Overall the 2023 season was very successful with ### hooks and was good pulling every weekend. Congrats to all the members. The next event will be the Christmas party on December 9th.
